One of the difficulties an artist faces on leaving college is how to maintain a disciplined working practice. No matter how dedicated the sudden absence of the regular and required studio attendance comes as quite alarming.
Sketch something everyday, anything you like however small, simple or quick. That is the advice. It is good and I do try as the little pen sketch below shows. The mainland from Skye as we soaked up the sun near the pier at Ilse Oronsey.

Highlights included our visit to Ullapool and the opening of the members exhibition at An Tala Solas. A magnificent painting by Peter White of a boat inspired the photograph taken later on the beach near Achiltibhuie. Maybe abandoned boats rather than buildings will become my next project!
